The Nottingham Ambulance Squad started out in the 1950s in the Nottingham Fire Department's building on Mercer Street in Hamilton Square, NJ. It quickly out grew the firehouse and needed to be more centrally located, to better suit the needs of the resident's. In 1980 we changed our name to the Nottingham Ambulance Squad Inc. and started a building fund drive. Ground was broken in 1980. On September 10, 1983 there was a ribbon cutting ceremony for our new home on Paxson Ave. Extension, which we still call home today. The property on Paxson Ave. Extension was the site of the old Hamilton YMCA pool.
Nottingham is the only 100% all volunteer squad left in Mercer County. We
currently have 2 Ambulances (11-3 & 11-4) a Utility truck a Supervisor car, which was donated by the township. We also have a 12 ft. trailer that was donated by Roma Bank, that we will be using for various events and functions. in the future we will be adding other vehicles as they are needed to better meet the needs of the ever growing township.
